Course description
The Master's programme in Choreography and Performance is a follow-up to relevant Bachelor's degrees in theatre studies. For detailed admission requirements, please refer to the "Application" section. This international Master's programme, offered by the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies, collaborates with the Department of Contemporary Dance at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) in Frankfurt am Main. Students can explore a diverse array of practical and theoretical courses in choreography and performance, dance, and theatre studies. The curriculum blends body and practice-oriented methods with a critical and reflective approach to dance and performance. Throughout your studies, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of choreography. Dance and movement are not only practiced and analyzed as artistic expressions but also discussed for their significance in contemporary aesthetic, social, and political contexts. To help you establish an independent working method within contemporary art production, the programme emphasizes contemporary international dance and performance art, along with their working and production methods.
