Step 1 - Find your Study Program
Eberhard Karls University Tubingen
Tübingen
Political Science
Subjects: Political Science
B.A. | Bachelor of Arts
Course description
As one of Germany's oldest institutes, we embody innovation and quality in both research and teaching. Our focus areas include democracy, development, and peace, approached through problem-oriented and theory-driven methods. We believe that exceptional research and excellent teaching are inseparable. A unique aspect of our program is the two-semester "teaching research project." Here, students work in small groups to navigate the entire research process—from identifying a research gap and formulating a question to presenting their findings. During your studies, you'll benefit from an attractive learning environment. This includes short distances between facilities, a well-equipped specialist library, and close interaction with faculty. Our recognized quality (as per CHE), global partnerships, and the integration of theory and practice in national and international political organizations further enhance your experience. Additionally, you'll have numerous practical opportunities, including internships, excursions, and research projects. These elements combine to create a comprehensive and enriching educational journey.

Qualification Requirements
The subject of political science has restricted admission to the bachelor's degree programs (BA main subject and minor subject; Bachelor of Education). Therefore, an admission process takes place every year as part of the application for these courses, in which a letter of motivation is required in addition to the university entrance qualification. The grade of the letter of motivation counts for 40%, the grade for the university entrance qualification counts for 60% of the overall grade. Based on this grade, a ranking list for admission is created. Each winter semester, 60 students are admitted to the BA major, 40 to the minor and 27 to the BEd.
