Course description

The two-year master's degree in mathematics is a scientific and research-focused program. It builds on the knowledge gained from a Bachelor's degree in mathematics. Students are expected to have completed two introductory lectures in their chosen field during their bachelor's studies. Additionally, they should possess the knowledge taught in the bachelor's program at the RPTU in Kaiserslautern, especially in the non-mathematical application subject. The program offers a broad mathematical education, exposing students to various modern mathematical methods. It enhances their ability to recognize connections and compare structures. Simultaneously, students delve into current mathematical research in their chosen field. The curriculum includes 18-21 credit points (CP) for further lectures, 12 CP for courses involving independent scientific work under supervision, at least one seminar (3 CP each), and a master's thesis (30 CP). Students also complete 18-21 CP each for lectures or lectures with exercises in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and the non-mathematical application subject. The course structure is flexible, with no compulsory subjects, only prescribed content from specific subject catalogs. This flexibility allows graduates to pursue research aligned with their skills and interests. Most mathematical courses are conducted in English. The Graduate School "Mathemat
