Apart from this, you need to submit language proficiency test results for English or Germany, whichever language you wish to study the course in. The higher the scores, the better your chances of admission.

In addition to having completed one of the above secondary school qualifications, applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in German. This can be done by providing a valid Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH) - DSH score of at least two - or TestDaF certificate - TestDaF score of at least four.

  • Proof of practical training or aptitude assessment depending on the undergraduate degree course chosen.

In addition to the general requirements, a university degree with a high to a very exceptional level in the field would be a primary requirement. In some cases, a Bachelor's degree may be sufficient to admit you as a Ph.D. student.

  • For international students, language skills are not necessary. Proof must only be provided if the dissertation is written in German.
  • To enroll as a doctoral student, you must first be accepted into the doctoral program or by the Doctoral Committee of the faculty where you wish to study for your doctorate.

How to best prepare for the Admissions Process
