Course description
The Master Program in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology is a comprehensive two-year, 120 ECTS English-language degree designed for both national and international students. This program delves into the modern realms of nanoscopic systems, covering everything from foundational knowledge to practical applications and devices. Students will engage in a variety of lectures, seminars, and lab courses. The program culminates in a research project within a dedicated group, leading to the completion of a thesis. This master's degree is a collaborative effort by the Departments of Physics, Chemistry, and Electrical Engineering within the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology. It aims to bridge the gap between nanoscience and nanotechnology. The nanoscience component includes the chemical preparation of nanoscale compounds and their characterization through physical methods. On the nanotechnology side, the focus shifts to devices such as nano-electronics and photonic devices based on nanoscale structures. This interdisciplinary approach is mirrored in the research activities and the state-of-the-art equipment available at the University of Siegen's School of Science and Technology. This setup enables students to explore all facets of modern nanoscience and nanotechnology. The program is designed to foster a deep understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects, ensuring that graduates are well
