Course description
The "Economics of the Middle East" (EMEA) is a distinctive master’s program that merges institutional economics and business administration, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Tackling the intricate economic issues in MENA demands an interdisciplinary approach. Therefore, the EMEA curriculum provides students with insights into current topics pertinent to many MENA countries, such as Islamic finance, political economy, natural resources, corruption, and conflict. Additionally, it offers a variety of electives from different disciplines to help students gain a comprehensive understanding of the region's complexities.

Qualification Requirements
Certification of a degree from a bachelor's program or certification of a comparable domestic or foreign qualifying university degree. As part of the degree program, students must have acquired basic knowledge of economics, i.e. at least 60 credit points (CP) must have been earned in economics subjects. Of these, at least 18 CP must have been earned in economics subjects. In addition, at least 12 CP must have been earned in methods. The Examination Board may make admission subject to the condition that additional coursework and/or examinations of a maximum of 12 CP are completed. In this case, the course may be extended accordingly.
