Possible Research Questions in the Master of Economic Research 1. How can behavior-based measures be effectively utilized for policy interventions? 2. What roles do environmental taxes and tradable emission certificates play in combating climate change, and what incentives drive their effectiveness? 3. What are the most effective methods to measure and regulate systemic risks in financial markets? 4. How does monetary policy contribute to the stability of financial markets? 5. What are the underlying causes of persistent economic inequalities? 6. What measures can promote social mobility? 7. Why does inequality persist in modern welfare states? 8. Is there an efficiency justification for policies that affect market prices, such as rent control or minimum wage laws? Is there also a fairness justification? These questions aim to explore critical areas within the Master of Economic Research program, focusing on the intersection of economic theory, policy, and real-world applications. By addressing these topics, students can contribute to a deeper understanding of economic dynamics and inform effective policy-making.

Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree (minimum grade 2.5) as well as fulfillment of subject-related and language requirements. The admission requirements are regulated in the current admission regulations, see "Important documents". Application in the case of unfinished Bachelor studies: In cases where present Bachelor studies have not been fully completed, application is permitted if the candidate has earned at least 70 % of the required credits and will have achieved the remaining results by 30 September at the latest. The minimum grade as well as the subject-related and language requirements must already have been fulfilled on the basis of the exam results available at the time of application. Applicants who do not have a German bachelor's degree must additionally submit a preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist. You can have your documents checked by uni-assist all year round, the VPD is not tied to an application semester.
