Course description
The Master’s programme in Experimental Geosciences focuses on training and research in a key area of modern Earth Sciences: simulating processes that occur within the Earth. This involves studying the physical and chemical properties of Earth materials to deepen our understanding of these properties. The M.Sc. programme in Experimental Geosciences covers several traditional scientific fields, including mineralogy, crystallography, solid state physics, inorganic chemistry, material sciences, geochemistry, cosmochemistry, and geophysics. By integrating these diverse subfields, we can gain a comprehensive understanding of the Earth's structure and dynamics.

Qualification Requirements
A degree with an examination grade of “good” (2.5) or better in a bachelor’s programme in the natural sciences at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree awarded in Germany or abroad. One prerequisite for admission to the programme is passing an aptitude assessment process (see Examination Regulations, Annex 2); it includes an evaluation of the applicant's qualifications and, if necessary, a personal interview
