Course description

Starting with the summer semester of 2015, the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences offers a fully English-taught master's degree program in International Software Systems Science. This graduate-level program, part of the Bologna 2nd cycle education, builds on a three-year bachelor's degree in Software Systems Science. It also welcomes students with an undergraduate degree (180 ECTS) in related fields such as Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering. The program equips students with the skills needed to analyze and create large networked software systems using modern methods. It prepares them for all tasks involved in this process, ensuring they are ready for the challenges of the field.

English language proficiency must be above level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), corresponding to at least IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90 (internet based) or equivalent

Qualification Requirements

Requirements for the Master's program International Software Systems Science: Academic bachelors degree of at least six semesters (180 ECTS) in Software Systems Science or in a closely related bachelors degree programme* such as, but not limited to Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering Final overall grade in the bachelors degree must be at least upper third class corresponding to the German grade 2.7 English language proficiency must be above level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), corresponding to at least IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90 (internet based) or equivalent *A closely related bachelors degree must cover: At least 115 ECTS credit points worth of modules in mathematical foundations, computer science and software engineering including a bachelors thesis in one of these fields or in applied computer sciences At least 34 ECTS credit points in Mathematics and Theoretical Foundations of Computer Science (covering propositional and predicate logic, linear algebra, calculus, probability theory, automata and formal languages, mathematical software analysis) At least 33 ECTS credit points in Programming and Software Science (covering procedural and non-procedural programming, algorithms and data structures, object-oriented modelling and software engineering)
