Course description

Bioengineering is a dynamic field that merges natural sciences and engineering to create innovative materials and technologies. Historically, early biotechnologies gave us cheese, wine, and bread. Today, bioengineering operates at the molecular-biological level, producing substances for detergents, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, biofuels, and new plant species. The Bioengineering B.Sc. program emphasizes natural sciences, integrating biology and chemistry with engineering and technology from the start. The curriculum covers three main biotechnology areas: health and medicine (red), agriculture (green), and industry (white). Electives allow further focus on plant and industrial biotechnology. Students benefit from small group work and modern labs for both teaching and research. For detailed topics, refer to the course schedule for this degree program.
