Course description
Physics has profoundly shaped our understanding of the universe and the world around us by exploring the fundamental concepts of space, time, and matter. It forms the bedrock for other natural sciences and numerous engineering fields. Modern technology, including transistors, lasers, and global positioning systems, relies heavily on principles of physics. Moreover, physics plays a crucial role in addressing global challenges like global warming, e-mobility, and renewable energy solutions. Quantum computing, an emerging technology, leverages quantum mechanics to solve problems beyond the reach of classical computers. The Constructor University Physics and Data Science major is a comprehensive three-year BSc program. The physics curriculum aligns with the guidelines of the Conference of the Departments of Physics (KFP) in Germany, the Institute of Physics in Britain for a BSc in Physics, and the topics covered in the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Physics test. The data science component is developed in close collaboration with the Computer Science faculty at Constructor University. This program is continually refined based on feedback from students and instructors, as well as advancements in research and teaching. Students in this program delve into subjects such as classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, and statistical physics. They also explore data science topics, including
