Course description
Today, we find ourselves overwhelmed with data but lacking meaningful information, even as we recognize that "data is the new gold." To unlock the true value of this data, we need a shift in how we analyze it. This is where Data Engineering comes in. This emerging field focuses on gathering vast amounts of data and turning it into actionable insights. It is at the forefront of technological innovation and scientific discovery, both of which are becoming increasingly data-driven. Our online graduate program in Data Engineering Technologies, offered by the School of Computer Science & Engineering, provides students with deep insights into this rapidly expanding field. The curriculum blends the big data elements of "Data Analytics" and "Data Science" with the technical challenges of data acquisition, curation, and management. Students learn to handle databases and warehouses, build big data pipelines, and utilize cloud computing. This program equips students with the skills needed to navigate and excel in the world of data engineering. It prepares them to tackle the complexities of managing and analyzing large datasets, ensuring they are ready to drive the next wave of innovation.
