Course description
The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy offers a European, interdisciplinary master's degree program in collaboration with the universities of Versailles-St. Quentin in France, Florence in Italy, and the Grande École ENSCL in Lille, France. This program allows students to pursue their master's theses at French research centers in Saclay near Paris and Marcoule near Avignon, under the guidance of the University of Versailles. Additionally, students can earn an extra French diploma by meeting certain conditions and acquiring additional credit points in France. This course targets students with a solid foundation in natural sciences—chemistry, physics, biology, biochemistry, and pharmacy—who hold a bachelor's degree or a 3-year undergraduate degree. The curriculum delves into colloid and interface chemistry, nanoparticle production, and the chemistry of supramolecular structures. It emphasizes self-organization phenomena and non-covalent bonds. A key feature of the program is the two-semester, mandatory “Formulation” module. This module addresses practical issues in developing and designing finished products, especially in the realm of “soft matter.” This hands-on approach ensures that students gain practical experience alongside theoretical knowledge.
