Course description
During their studies, students should gain cutting-edge knowledge and develop the skills to conduct independent academic work. In the Master's seminar and through the Master's thesis, they show their ability to gather relevant information, think creatively, and derive new insights. Their scientific skills should prepare them for management roles. The focus is on mining engineering and mineral economics, covering management and finance of mining operations, project and contract management, licensing, stakeholder involvement, remediation mining, mining safety, environmental protection, and biotechnology in mining. Students should critically examine the methods and procedures in their field. They need to understand their responsibility to use their knowledge to address social and global issues. This includes developing sustainable and environmentally friendly methods in mining and mine rehabilitation from a business perspective.
