Course description

The politics of food in society, involving manufacturers, retailers, consumers, and health professionals, are complex and continually evolving. This programme prepares graduates to take on responsible tasks in national and international food business companies, as well as in food certification organisations. In particular, they are qualified to manage complex processes in the food industry, trade, and the agricultural sector. They are able to develop and market food products and related services according to the needs of different consumer groups, taking into account the principles of sustainability. --- Navigating the intricate politics of food in society requires understanding the roles of manufacturers, retailers, consumers, and health professionals. This programme equips graduates to handle significant responsibilities in both national and international food business companies and food certification organisations. Graduates gain the expertise to manage complex processes within the food industry, trade, and agriculture. They learn to develop and market food products and services tailored to diverse consumer needs, always considering sustainability principles.

School reports that provide evidence of learning the foreign language for at least 5 years, if the language was learned up to the final examinations that entitle pupils to study at a university. The final grade or the average grade from the final two years of language learning must be at least the equivalent of a German grade 4 (adequate). A course at a post-secondary education centre (e.g. a university), which lasted at least one year and the language, evidence of which needs to be provided, was the primary language of tuition. Qualification Requirements

BSc Degree with a minimum duration of six semesters (180 ECTS credits or equivalent), Grade B (2.5 according to the German grading system) or better in Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional or Food Science or related fields, i.e. Food Technology, A one-page letter in English that outlines the applicants' motivation to study in this programme, personal experiences and expectations relevant to their further studies, as well as the long-term career goals that drive their application for a transdisciplinary Master program. Non-native speaker must certify sufficient proficieny in English language by previous studies conducted entirely in English or international language certificate of level B2 according to the Common Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF) Additionally, the following documents must be attached to your application set: CV and 1 Letter of References.

Document Requirements

Copy of your university entrance qualification certificate Officially certified copy of your first professional university degree (certificate: e.g. Bachelor's degree, Diplom I, state examination). If you do not have a Bachelor's degree certificate at the time of application, please submit the following evidence: Preliminary overview of subjects and grades of your previous studies and the certificate on the status in your studies, completed and signed by your current examination office: Bescheinigung zum Stand im Studium. At the time of application, at least 80% of the credits required for graduation must have already been earned and passed. This equates to 144 out of 180 or 168 out of 210 credits. In addition, proof of admission to the Bachelor's thesis (indicating the date of submission) must be available. Further proof specified in the examination regulations (see above).
