Course description

The Double Master's Programme in Demography and Social Inequality offers students a unique chance to gain expertise from two prestigious universities. Participants spend one year at each institution, earning two master's degrees: a Master of Science in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Cologne and a Master of Science in Population Studies from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. This international programme delves into demographic change, population dynamics, and the challenges modern societies face due to rising life expectancy, falling birth rates, and migration. Students will master advanced social research methods and data analysis tools to tackle issues like ageing, social inequality, family structures, integration, and education.
