Course description

Environmental engineering is more crucial now than ever. Over the past two decades, the field has evolved from focusing solely on waste disposal logistics to embracing material recovery and the circular economy. This shift includes innovative materials, integrated material and process flow analysis, and energy sector considerations. Once seen as a niche driven by ideology, environmental technology now plays a central role in the global economy. Germany stands as a global leader in environmental engineering. This leadership is sustained through innovative and integrated technology, supportive legal and economic frameworks, and top-tier education in environmental sciences. The Environmental Engineering program at TU Hamburg, offering a Master of Science degree, targets ambitious engineers in environmental engineering, water management, civil engineering, and related fields. The program covers a range of study subjects, ensuring a comprehensive education. Students delve into areas such as material recovery, circular economy principles, and energy sector issues. This curriculum equips them with the skills needed to excel in the evolving landscape of environmental technology. By fostering a deep understanding of these subjects, the program prepares engineers to contribute effectively to the field. The emphasis on high-quality education and practical application ensures that graduates are well-equipped to lead in environmental engineering.
