Course description

You encounter data science in nearly every aspect of your daily life. When you grab your smartphone in the morning, countless algorithms operate behind the scenes. These algorithms work when you type a term into a search engine, use a navigation app to find the quickest route, or interact with a voice assistant. Even weather forecasts rely on data science algorithms. In the Data Science degree course, you'll dive into how these processes function. You'll not only learn to apply them but also to develop them further. The curriculum covers the theoretical foundations of statistics and their practical implementation using modern computer science methods. You'll master extracting characteristics from vast amounts of data—think big data—and making this stored knowledge useful for both humans and machines. The course also emphasizes ethical considerations, ensuring you handle data responsibly in the future.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in a Data Science programm - or an equivalent programm with sufficiently strong background in computer science and mathematics - and must show a very good previous academic performance as well as sufficient proficiency in English.

For these courses a basic knowledge of German is strongly recommended. Anyhow a formal proof of German is not required for the application. APS certificate All applicants with a school or university degree from China, India or Vietnam, regardless of their nationality, have to submit an APS certificate with their application for admission!
