Course description
The Master of Space Engineering (MSE) is an international, full-time program at Technische Universität Berlin, starting each April. This program aims to develop systems engineers ready to lead in the space industry. Offered by the Chair of Space Technology, it blends top-notch space technology education with project management and intercultural skills. Spanning four semesters and taught entirely in English, the MSE program totals 120 credit points. It is highly project-oriented, preparing students for the global space industry. Participants engage in challenging satellite projects and work within diverse teams. They benefit from TU Berlin's expertise and network in small satellites. The curriculum includes interdisciplinary subjects like project management, communications training, entrepreneurship, and innovation management. Students also have the chance to gain internship experience in the European space industry. Graduates leave with the skills, experience, and connections needed to advance their space careers, whether in Europe, their home country, or globally.

The program is taught exclusively in English. All applicants, other than those whose first language is English or who completed their first degree in an English-speaking country, are therefore required to provide proof of their level of English. The level required for this program is C1 (CEFR). Applicants need to be able to prove a score of 80 for the online TOEFL test and 550 for the written test, or a band score of 6 for the IELTS examination (academic module).
Qualification Requirements
The formal requirement for admission to the continuing education master’s program in Space Engineering is a first university degree qualifying you for professional work and for the master’s program, at least bachelor’s equivalent. Decisions concerning applicants’ qualifications in terms of the subject content of their first degree rest with the examination committee. A further formal requirement is that applicants have gained at least one year’s work experience since completing their first degree.
Document Requirements
Applications must include a letter of motivation. Additional qualifications such as professional experience, commitment to social issues, publications, participation in extracurricular events, language skills, and IT skills can be included in the letter of motivation.
