Students have a wealth of opportunities to study abroad, including two exclusive double-degree exchange programs. These programs are specifically designed for this Master’s degree: the International Master in Financial and Insurance Mathematics with the University of Bologna in Italy and Paris Saclay in France, and the International Master in Green Finance with the University of Bologna in Italy and Paris Dauphine in France. The Department of Mathematics at the University of Munich offers a highly interdisciplinary Master’s degree program in Financial and Insurance Mathematics. This program emphasizes research-oriented teaching, providing advanced skills in applied and computational mathematics, with a particular focus on Financial and Insurance Mathematics. The curriculum is highly modular, allowing students to specialize in areas such as Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, and Informatics. Students gain a broad range of essential skills to build professional profiles in fintech, insurance, banking, consulting, and IT sectors. Qualification Requirements
In order to be accepted to the Master in Financial and Insurance Mathematics Program, prospective candidates must either: have successfully completed a bachelor degree in Mathematics or Business Mathematics at a volume of 180 ECTS at a German University, or alternatively, hold a bachelor study program in another field or international university that features an integrated mathematics education at a comparable profound mathematical level.
