Course description
This two-year, full-time double-degree Master’s program, offered in collaboration with several international universities, provides a unique educational experience. Students spend their first year at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and then choose a partner university for their second year, such as Copperbelt University in Zambia, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya, or Botswana International University of Science & Technology. The curriculum covers the functioning of managed landscapes, like agroecosystems, across various global regions. It equips students with the skills needed for nature conservation in these landscapes. Participants will learn to plan conservation efforts and manage land sustainably. They will also gain the ability to advise land users and other stakeholders effectively. Students will develop and apply tools to assess and predict the impacts of land management on nature. These tools include field methods, computational models, and laboratory techniques. Graduates will be prepared to work independently in planning and implementing nature conservation measures in diverse landscapes. They will also be capable of conducting scientific research and providing practical advice to land users, particularly farmers, on sustainable land management. This program fosters a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of ecosystems and human activities, preparing students to make a meaningful impact in the field of nature conservation and sustainable land

Proof of knowledge must be provided if the degree presented was not earned in an English-language degree program. Proof of proficiency is not required for native speakers. For the English language TOEFL, IELTS or comparable certificates are considered as proof. Standard in this case is the TOEFL test with at least 85 out of 120 scores (IBT, Internet-Based Test) and for the IELTS 6.5 scores out of 9. Comparable tests can be accepted. A substitute proof can be provided by adequate language certificates combined with an aptitude test by the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
Qualification Requirements
A qualified university degree (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) in nature conservation, agroecology, environmental science, agricultural science or any related field. Such a degree must have been obtained for a standard period of study of at least three years. As a basis for admission, an aptitude assessment procedure takes place, in the context of which the final grade of the first degree and the field of study the letter of motivation and the personal aptitude of the applicant are taken into account.Generally, relevant qualified professional or societal experience (e.g., working with or for NGOs) of usually one year after graduation is required. International experience strengthening the international character of the program may be equally accepted.
