The University of Erfurt is a venerable institution, having played a major role in the Reformation and the birth of modern sociology. These days, it offers 46 courses, spread across Bachelor's and Master's levels. Subjects focus on culture, education, social studies, politics, and religion, but almost all arts disciplines are covered.
