Ulm University of Applied Sciences began as a state engineering school in 1960 and became a technical university in March 2019. The university is comprised of 13 institutes within six faculties covering a range of disciplines including Mechatronics and Medical Engineering and Computer Science. There are approximately 4,100 students and over 35 courses to choose from including five international programs.
Ulm University of Applied Sciences runs a buddy program whereby international students are paired up with German students. The buddy will help the student to settle into university life and answer any questions they have about studying and socializing. Ulm University of Applied Sciences offers five international programs including Systems Engineering and Management and Computer Science, with at least 50% of the lectures being taught in English.
The university has a unique display of energy-related machinery at the Energy Park on the Prittwitzstraße campus. Research is a very important part of studying at the university. At the Institute for Applied Research, projects are carried out in various fields, such as Health and Medicine and Sustainable Energy.
