The University of Communication and Design in Stuttgart (Hochschule für Kommunikation und Gestaltung, or simply HfK+G) is a leading venue for the study of advertising, media communications, and graphic design.
Privately-run, the school was founded in 2012, and has quickly gained a reputation for delivering efficient, highly practical communications courses. A range of BA level degrees is provided, and all are accredited by the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. And thanks to allied institutions like the Institute for Applied Research, degrees tend to feed seamlessly into Germany's creative professions.
A relatively recent addition to Baden-Wuerttemberg's education sector, HfK+G Stuttgart is small but efficient, offering courses in both Communication Design and Advertising & Market Communication. It operates a network of 27 expert teachers, who cater for 221 students.

Part of the HfK+G university (which also has a branch in Ulm), the University of Communication and Design (Stuttgart) offers BAs in advertising communications and practical design. Both have a strong focus on digital technologies and contemporary methods, and they can be studied as "dual degrees" to create courses tailored for individual students.
Abitur is required for all admissions, and fluent German language skills will also be needed for international students. However, with its forward-thinking approach, and strong links to creative businesses, HfK+G Stuttgart is an excellent place to start building a media or design career in Germany.
Internationals studying for more than one year in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg will have to pay a €1,500 tuition fee per semester.

TK - Your health insurance partner
Take care of your studies - we take care of the bureaucracy!
TK is one of Germany’s leading public health insurance providers3. As a health insurance partner for Witten/Herdecke University, many students choose to be covered by TK during their studies. Health insurance is mandatory by law for all residents in Germany, including international students.
You will need to have your public healthcare cover organized before applying for your visa. At Expatrio, we partner with TK to help register international students for public healthcare cover, ensuring they can apply for their visa and are legally covered during their studies.
Students aged under 30 are entitled to a discounted student rate for health insurance. This is available at Expatrio through TK. Although TK offers the same basic cover as most public providers, it also offers English language support and registration as well as vaccination advice, dental hygiene cover, and well-being classes.
