The Berlin International University of Applied Sciences (BIU) was created in 2014 and has become a popular higher education option in the German capital. Privately owned, but run on a non-profit basis, the university is based in the Charlottenburg neighborhood, and focuses on the design and business administration. All courses are taught in English, conferring on the school a very international feel.
The Berlin International University of Applied Sciences in Numbers
Created in 2014, BI is probably the most cosmopolitan university in the Berlin area. Hosting 375 students, it's not large. However, it offers a diverse selection of Bachelor’s programs, generally in creative subjects such as architecture, graphic design, product design, or interior design. Business administration courses are also available, while the school also offers Master’s in Interior design and Business administration.
More about the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences
BI is home to students from 73 nationalities, and 84% of the professors have worked outside Germany. It is also part of BI Global, a multinational alliance of universities, providing global opportunities for students. Study programs are focused on design (both graphic, product, and interior), as well as business development and administration, which means that students will be well placed to enter Germany's architecture, furniture design, and media sectors. And it is ideal for international students, considering that English is used as the teaching language for all courses.
